Two Bay Area Hotels Named Among the Best in the World
BODEGA BAY, Calif. – Two Northern California hotels have earned global recognition, with one taking the top spot in Condé Nast Traveler’s prestigious 38th annual Readers’ Choice Awards.
The Lodge at Bodega Bay has been named the No. 1 hotel in the world for the second consecutive year, according to the travel magazine’s global survey. Nestled along the scenic Sonoma Coast, the Lodge is praised for its relaxed atmosphere, coastal charm, and thoughtful amenities that reflect its oceanside setting.
“Snuggled into a bluff in the vineyard-peppered Sonoma coast, the Lodge at Bodega Bay is a laid-back getaway,” Condé Nast Traveler wrote. Guests enjoy local wine tastings, access to quiet beaches, and rooms designed with nautical blues, cream tones, and dark wood accents. Each room includes special touches like in-room jacuzzis, spa services such as Ocean Shell Massages, and even binoculars to take in the sweeping ocean views from private balconies.
The family-owned hotel expressed its appreciation on Instagram, saying, “To be voted as the best hotel in the world by readers of Condé Nast Traveler for the second year in a row is an extraordinary honor. We take great pride in the craft of authentic hospitality.”
Despite its elite status, the Lodge remains relatively affordable compared to other luxury properties. It received a “$$” price rating from the magazine, with nightly rates ranging from approximately $399 to $549, excluding taxes and fees, for non-holiday, midweek stays.
Napa Valley’s Harvest Inn Also Makes the List
Also earning high praise is the Harvest Inn in St. Helena, which climbed to 15th place in this year’s global rankings—up from 16th last year. Located in the heart of Napa Valley, the Harvest Inn is described as a quintessential Wine Country retreat.
“You’ll wake up to 360-degree vineyard views hugging the property and end your evening with crackling fireplaces and private hot tub patios,” Condé Nast Traveler wrote. The inn’s grounds are filled with natural beauty, from fruit trees and redwoods to winding vines, all connected by charming brick pathways.
The on-site restaurant, Harvest Table, also received accolades for offering “the gold standard in farm-to-table dining.”
On Instagram, the Harvest Inn celebrated its recognition as the No. 2 hotel in Northern California, calling it “a true testament to the entire team and their commitment to delivering exceptional, personable service and a refreshingly original Napa Valley experience.”
Like the Lodge at Bodega Bay, the Harvest Inn received a “$$” price rating, with rooms typically ranging from $269 to $449 per night on low-demand days, not including taxes and fees.
Both properties are part of the Woodside Collection, a group of independently owned hotels and resorts throughout Northern California. The organization expressed gratitude for the continued recognition, stating it was “humbled and grateful” to have two of its hotels ranked among the best in the world.
These honors highlight the North Bay’s growing reputation as a destination for world-class hospitality, scenic beauty, and unforgettable guest experiences.
