Private equity firm Blackstone has announced its acquisition of British hotel operator Village Hotels. The deal is part of a larger investment trend in the hospitality sector, which is currently outperforming the wider commercial property market. Village Hotels, which operates 33 mid-market hotels across regional cities and suburbs in Britain, was previously owned by investor KSL Capital Partners. Blackstone did not disclose the value of the deal, but it was previously reported that the chain was up for sale with a valuation of around £850 million ($1.1 billion). Blackstone has previously invested in the UK leisure sector, including the 2021 acquisition of holiday park-owner Bourne Leisure.
