Luxury Travel Soars: Hotel CEOs Eye Wealth Surge in India and China as Global Bookings Rise

Luxury Travel Demand Surges, Driven by Wealth Growth in India and China

Luxury travel is experiencing a significant boost, fueled by rising affluence in India and China, according to industry leaders at this week’s Global Hotel Alliance (GHA) meeting in Brussels.

GHA, which serves as the loyalty platform for more than 45 upscale hotel brands—including Minor Hotels, Corinthia, Pan Pacific, and Kempinski—has reported a 13% increase in bookings so far this year.

This upward trend comes despite global challenges such as geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, trade disputes, and concerns over overtourism. The continued growth in luxury travel highlights the resilience of the sector and the increasing influence of emerging markets on global hospitality trends.
