**Buenos Aires City Police Raid Liam Payne’s Hotel Following His Death: Source**
Buenos Aires City Police have conducted a raid at the hotel where former One Direction star Liam Payne tragically passed away. Authorities are reportedly seeking information about the employees who were on duty the day of his death.
According to sources close to the investigation, the raid took place at the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Wednesday, October 23. Payne, 31, died on October 16 after falling from the balcony of his third-floor hotel room. The police are focusing on identifying staff members who were working on the day of the incident and in the days leading up to it. As part of the investigation, authorities are also searching for documents and information stored in the hotel’s registration books and computer systems.
Insiders have revealed that the police are requesting additional security footage from the hotel to aid in their investigation.
On Tuesday, October 22, the Argentine Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that Payne’s father, Geoff Payne, had spoken with the case’s prosecutor, Dr. Andres Esteban Madrea. Geoff expressed his desire to understand what happened to his son and offered to share any information that might assist the investigation. Geoff will remain in Argentina under police protection until the judicial process concludes, as he copes with the loss of his son.
The investigation is being handled with care to protect the privacy of Payne’s family, according to the prosecutor’s office.
Liam Payne suffered multiple serious injuries from his fall and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Buenos Aires emergency services chief Alberto Crescenti. A 911 call from a hotel receptionist had reported a guest who was allegedly “high on drugs” and “trashing” their room, raising concerns that the guest might be in danger.
A partial autopsy report later revealed that Payne had several substances in his system at the time of his death, including “pink cocaine” (a mixture of methamphetamine, ketamine, and MDMA), cocaine, benzodiazepine, and crack.
Payne is survived by his parents, Geoff and Karen, his sisters Ruth and Nicola, and his 7-year-old son Bear, whom he shared with ex-partner Cheryl Cole.
In a statement to the BBC, Payne’s family expressed their heartbreak: “Liam will forever live in our hearts, and we’ll remember him for his kind, funny, and brave soul. We are supporting each other the best we can as a family and ask for privacy and space at this awful time.”
