“Virgin Hotels Set to Open Their First London Location in Shoreditch this Summer”

Virgin Hotels is set to open its first London hotel on August 1, 2024, marking a return to the company’s roots. The 120-room hotel will be located in the heart of Shoreditch and promises to be a striking addition to the East End landscape.

The hotel will offer a range of high-end experiences, including a rooftop bar, pool, restaurant, private members club, and treatment rooms managed by Ibiza’s Blue Marlin. Existing Spanish restaurant BiBo, in association with renowned chef Dani Garcia, will continue to operate on the property. The existing lobby bar and cafe, Christina’s, will also remain open before being transformed into a unique eatery in 2025.

The hotel’s interior will feature Virgin Hotels’ patented beds and mattresses, red Smeg fridges, and a top-tier suite named Richard’s Flat. All guests will have access to the innovative Lucy App, which allows complete room control via smartphone.

Richard Branson expressed his excitement about the new hotel, stating that it fulfills a long-held ambition to bring the Virgin experience to London. The city holds special significance for Virgin, being the place where the company’s journey began.

The London hotel is part of Virgin Hotel Collection’s global expansion strategy and will be its 17th location. This follows the recent addition of the Finch Hattons property in Kenya to the Virgin Hotels Collection, as well as the launches of Virgin Hotels Edinburgh and Virgin Hotels New York in 2023.

Virgin Hotels London-Shoreditch is part of a long-term agreement with Reuben Brothers, global leaders in real estate investment and development. The partnership aims to bring Virgin’s iconic brand and unrivalled travel experience to one of London’s most vibrant neighbourhoods.

James Bermingham, CEO of Virgin Hotels Collection, expressed his delight at the new location and thanked Reuben Brothers for their trust in bringing the Virgin Hotels brand to life in this extraordinary building.

The London hotel will also serve as a base for Virgin Hotels’ The Know loyalty program and Virgin Red members in London. Virgin Red members will be able to earn seven points per pound spent on nightly room rates, which can be used for experiences across the Virgin Group and beyond.

Virgin Hotels London-Shoreditch will open at 45 Curtain Road on August 1, 2024.
