**voco Hotels Expands to Atlanta with the Opening of The Darwin Hotel**

voco Hotels, part of the IHG Hotels & Resorts portfolio, has made its debut in Atlanta with the conversion of the iconic Darwin Hotel, located in the vibrant Old Fourth Ward district.

The newly transformed 111-room property brings voco Hotels’ signature upscale and charming experience to the heart of Atlanta. With over five decades of history, The Darwin Hotel now aligns with voco Hotels’ distinctive approach to hospitality, blending the comforts of a global hotel brand with the unique character of a local property. The hotel’s contemporary design pays homage to the rich culture and traditions of the Old Fourth Ward.

In line with voco Hotels’ commitment to sustainability, the property offers eco-friendly features such as plant-based amenities, luxurious bedding made from 100% recycled materials, and complimentary filtered water in reusable bottles. The four-story hotel also fosters community and engagement with a variety of amenities, including a central courtyard, an onsite dog park, and an outdoor cocktail bar.

Carol Hoeller, Vice President of Global Brand Management for voco Hotels, expressed her excitement about the brand’s expansion into Atlanta. “The property reflects the brand’s conversion-friendly design, which enables a seamless transition and amplifies the upscale amenities and fun personality that our guests have come to love,” she said.

The Darwin Hotel is the first IHG-branded property in Atlanta for its owner, Global SCR. The hotel’s operations will be managed by Atlanta-based company HVMG. Shyam Patel, COO of Global SCR and Managing Member of The Darwin Hotel, highlighted the hotel’s connection to the local culture, stating, “The hotel’s regionally inspired, welcoming vibe embodies the spirit of Atlanta’s lively culture, making it a natural fit for the Old Fourth Ward.”

Since its launch in 2018, voco Hotels has been rapidly expanding, with a goal of having over 200 hotels open globally by 2028. The Atlanta opening follows the recent debut of voco The Tuxon in Tucson, Arizona, and precedes upcoming openings in Mexico City, Cincinnati, and Laguna Hills, California, slated for late 2024.
